01 / Google Business Profile

Why your business is not showing on Google Maps

The usual causes are an unverified or suspended profile, a recent edit still under review, a service-area business with its address hidden, the wrong primary category, or duplicate listings. Searching your exact business name tells you whether the profile is indexed at all.

We check each of these in the first week and fix what we can. If a profile has been suspended, we prepare the reinstatement request with you. We never create profiles at virtual offices, because that breaks Google’s guidelines and gets profiles suspended.

02 / Google Business Profile

Getting more Google reviews without breaking the rules

The most reliable way to get more reviews is to ask every customer straight after the job, with a direct link or QR code, and to reply to every review. Google’s policies ban paying for reviews, offering discounts for them, and asking only happy customers. Fake reviews are also illegal in Australia, the UK and the US.

We set up a simple request, often an automated WhatsApp or email the day after a job, so reviews grow with real customer feedback.

Local SEO beyond the profile: citations and location pages

Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence. The profile is the biggest single piece, but your website and other listings matter too. Our local SEO plan adds directory citations, service and location pages on your site, on-page fixes and rank tracking on top of profile care.

  • Primary category and services
  • Matching details everywhere
  • Steady reviews and replies
  • Photos and weekly posts
  • Location and service pages
  • Rank tracking by suburb

Questions

Your questions, answered.

How do I rank higher on Google Maps?

Google says local results depend mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot change distance, so the work is relevance and prominence: the right primary category, complete services, accurate details that match your website, steady reviews, regular photos and posts, and local pages on your site. Nobody can honestly guarantee a position in the map results.

Why is my business not showing on Google Maps?

The usual causes are an unverified or suspended profile, a recent edit still under review, a service-area business with its address hidden, the wrong primary category, or duplicate listings. Searching your exact business name tells you whether the profile is indexed. We check each of these in the first week.

How do I get more Google reviews?

Ask every customer straight after the job with a direct review link or QR code, and reply to every review. Google bans paying for reviews, offering discounts for them and asking only happy customers, and fake reviews are illegal in Australia, the UK and the US, so we never buy or write them.

How long does Google Business Profile optimisation take to work?

Fixes to categories and details are usually live within days. Better visibility in Maps tends to build over two to three months as reviews, photos and posts add up. It depends on your competitors and how far customers are from you, so we report real calls, direction requests and clicks rather than promising a timeframe.

Is Google Business Profile the same as Google My Business?

Yes. Google renamed Google My Business to Google Business Profile in 2021. It is the free listing that appears in Google Maps and in the local results of Google Search, and you manage it from Google Search or Maps rather than a separate app.
